With a new Sailing School in 2009 and the pier servicing the jetty for sail boats and deep sea angling, even the visitor that just wants the peace and tranquility of the long sandy beach and wooded walkways that overlook Lough Swilly, will not be disappointed. Like all Irish villages, you'll find the locals are friendly.

Noted in the Irish history books for the famous "Flight of the Earls", the historic centre near the pier is a must to visit. An artistic monument is in place near the pier to commerate this episode.
